Plurilingualism in institutionalized education. An attempt to find the common ground between mediation and learning outcomes
In the document of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, published in September 2017, the notions of plurilingualism, pluriculturalism and mediation are highly emphasized. Admittedly, this approach has a great number of advantages in the process of learning foreign languages; however, the tendency is to be focused on the processes, rather than on the objectives of learning, which are an inevitable part of institutionalized education. The problem is how to balance the development of communicative abilities with the objectives of a lesson that have to be measurable. The author presents how grammar can function as the common ground between mediation and learning outcomes and mentions the importance of the shift towards language similarities.
