Language map of Yulin city
In spite of the usefulness of language maps in showing language distribution, there are very few detailed language maps of the southeast part of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. This study covers part of this region – the Yulin city, which includes two districts and five counties, with their ten generally not mutually intelligible dialects. By analyzing the language situaton of different districs and counties of Yulin city, this study find out that there exsit 10 dialects in Yulin city, they are: Yulin dialect, Hakka, Xiali dialect, Shangli dialect, Luchuan Baihua dialet, Dilao dialect, Rongxian dialect, Xinye dialect, Holo dialect and upper Yangtze Mandarin. This study analyze the geography distribution of these 10 dialect, and the results are showed as langugae maps. Besides the language maps, prestige and language situation are also analyzed in the article.
